After seeing the Watchmen movie last weekend with my awesome boyfriend , we both left the theater feeling like drawing something Watchmen-related. When I asked Cosmic what I should draw, he said it'd be cool if I drew the Comedian... so here is the Comedian for him

I haven't seen the Ultimate Cut yet, but I did see Tales of the Black Freighter! I've been meaning to see the whole thing put together, but still haven't had the time.

Yep, it does end differently, sort of. The chain of events that leads to the end is different. There is no alien. But if you want to know, I thought it was handled pretty well, and to me it worked and didn't detract from the movie at all!

as for the movie, I tell you, I loved it. And it had been a while since any movie sparred the kind of discussion that watchmen did! I had a blast just talking about it with my boyfriend and friends, noticing all the little details picked up from the book, and the stuff that was different. I think it was a beautifully done adaptation (the credits, some of the song-moments - the beginning was fantastic!, the acting, the sets...), and probably the best comic-book adaptation we've seen so far. I saw it twice in the cinema and can't wait to get the DVD. Sure, it wasn't a perfect movie, but I enjoyed it immensely! How about yourself?

I thought that the movie was visually stunning, and had some really awesome moments...as a whole I wasn't too impressed, just because I found it sort of hard to follow. Some of the conventions that work for comics aren't the best for movies. I was also extremely unimpressed with alot of the acting (but I'm probably just picky, since I'm an acting major, lol)...except Rorschach and the Comedian; those performance were VERY strong. The opening credits and the first 1/2 hour of the movie thought was excellent, but I felt it went downhill with the except of a few scenes (Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan's backstories for example). But considering making Watchmen into movie is SUCH a insane task (please comic fans, please general public etc), I think they did a descent job. And yeah, of course I'll get it on DvD...I mean, cause it's Watchmen

well, some of the acting (ex. silk spectre) was not that good, I'll give you that, but since you already pointed out Rorschach and the Comedian as the best there is no need for me to do it again 
It's not the perfect movie, but I thought it was an excellent adaptation, I just wish it had made more money at the box office, because it sure as hell deserved it. You see such crappy movies take in millions and millions, I wish Watchmen made that much, to show the suits that it's good to take a chance on a project people called "unfilmmable".

Bah, I'm sad now..the whole time I watched the movie, I was thinking the Comedian was Robert Downey, Jr. because my brother saw it and told me! That jerk! So..anyway..I don't know what my point is but this is a nice pic. *laughs* The blood in the back is pretty neato, weee!
I'm not sure if I liked the movie all that much..it was unnecessarily violent at times. That guys arms getting chopped off? D: And showing Ror..the masked guy chop into the guys head multiple times?! I dunno...not a fan of overused violence. And then the music was distracting. I get that it was the 80's, but...99 Luft Baloons!! D: Ahhh!! I wish the whole soundtrack was Tears for Fears instead (they did have a musac version of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" in the movie!)

Hahaha don't sweat it with the rant, it's neat to know other people's opinions on the movie. I get what you're saying, the violence was a little more emphasized than in the comic, but honestly I think it worked well. All the instances that focused on violence (Vietnam, that bit with Rorschach you mentioned, the prison scene...) were meant to make us feel the brutality of the situation. I just think it was effective in conveying the ruthlessness and violence of those times. I honestly liked the music a lot, but I do see what people mean when they think it was distracting, it added another dimension to the film and it can get distracting. 99 luft balloons was probably my least favorite in there, but I did love listening to the musac version of Everybody Wants to Rule the World, I thought it was a great touch in that moment

I have just arrived from the cinema and finally understood why the film is called "Watchmen". I spent most of the time looking at my watch wondering... "whe is it gonna end??". Havent been this bored since Lord of the Rings.

Já agora, a qual Lord of the Rings te referes? A todos ou a um em particular? Eu adorei a trilogia, mas achei que o primeiro pode ter sido um bocado para o chato. Já os outros achei que foram muito bom entretenimento!
