My second favorite movie and TV car to the General Lee and my second most detailed and intricate work if not as much so as Billie's TX CruiserThe 59 Cadillac Hearse from Ghostbusters fully equiped to take on the supernatural world
another costly replica this one was a Polar Lights model kit that JUST SO HAPPENED to turn out to be 1/24 scale (my ideal size) It took THREE of these kits to build this one. More on that later.
Finally fixed those tail lamps. On the Polar lights box they were red in the center and clear arounf the outside.

O.O That... is... awesome.... It's so beautiful! I'm a big Ghostbusters fan and this model looks WAY better than the one I tried to paint myself. Hats off to you good sir!

Thankyou. secret is i never painted it (the body). white is hard to get right. i destroyed two other bodies trying to paint it and finely gave up. I used my enamel paint pens to detail the equipment on the roof and colored the inside of the light bars with a Sharpie Blue perm marker.
the tail fins are a combination of red paint and red decals i think with silver enamel for chrome trim.
this is one of my favs as well.

Thank you. I'm thinking about doing an Escalade version of the Ecto 1 since I have several extra parts and one set of decals still left over.
First i have to find a white model.

Wait......it was a HEARSE??? I always thought it was an old ambulance....ah well, guess I was wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. LOL

actuallywere both right. see in the 50s and 60s there was little difference between an ambulance and a hearse (did I not spell that right in commentary)
so in rural communities hearses were used as ambulances by just putting a red flasher or two on it.
if you'll remeber when we first saw the Ecto 1 "Hey you cant park that thing here!" it was a faded BLACK with red lights and a siren.
Simarily I have a book that shows a police station wagon with ambulance on the side windows and commentary that police wagons were often used as ambulances.
basically up to a few decades ago an ambulance was only a transport to hospital (something to shove an injured, dying, or dead body into on a slab) not a life saving triage on wheels like they are today

I was pretty astounded. How would you like to be injured and bleeding and then shoved in the back of a vehicle upolstered in black carpeting and the windows covered in black drapes that blocks out most of the light leaving you in an errie glow while your probably wasted on morphine?
