Description I'm working on a series of pictures of the horsebreed Tarpan, an extinct breed that humans now try to recreate. Every tarpan horse I draw are characters I own on another site. This particular horse is named Dale Dew Ó and has a very gentle temperament. I do love the colours in the picture!

Thank you. At the time I did these tarpan pictures they were the best I had done. I keep getting better, especially on backgrounds - but this was the best right then.

Tarpans must be related to Fjords.  Dark dorsal strip that extends into mane and tail, darker coloring on points, and striping.  Probably older and slight difference in body color but they gotta be related.  Love your style and coloring, I will have to do some research on this breed now

The tarpans are supposedly extinct but have been recreated using other breeds with tarpan heritage. I actually don't think the fjords are connected to the tarpans, I thought they were connected to prewalski?

But to be fair, I don't know. It's an old wild breed anyhow and as far as I know most primitive wild breeds share the same basic colouring and patterns. Even wild donkeys.

Absolutely stunning! I love the primitive "Zebra Stripe" markings on his fore legs.

The detail is flawless, the body and conformation so familiar with the breed you are portraying and the backing is simply breathtaking. I think the fact that you do not "Over-Populate" your background enhances the effect of the wild and free spirit of these majestic feral animals.

I'd love to see a snow scene, I think that would be really beautiful!

Do you, by any chance, do commissions?

Thank you!

A snow scene fould be fun to draw... when spring is finally here IRL.

And yes, I do comissions.
I see I somehow managed to miss reading and responding this comment for years! I'm truly sorry about that.

Very nice. Who is the horse in the background?

I don't know!
I love such details in a picture. Small details of life. I don't think the mare drinking know she is being watched. Maybe it's a young stud, out looking to make a herd of his own?
