I'm on summer holidays! I can draw as much as I want now! Hi, everyone!
So this is bit different from my usual art...I haven't used watercolours since I was 11 or 12. I find any kind of paint frustrating, but the other day all my younger sisters were painting with watercolours, so I thought, why no try painting again. Also, I didn't use a single reference! As it turned out, I'm really proud of my picture despite the flaws. The only problem was that the paper I used wrinkled up like crazy (I know, I never use proper art supplies). I tried to photoshop out most of the wrinkles, but I couldn't do to much without wrecking the colour. Anyway, I hope you like it!
This filly is a new comer to Climax Stables, although I actually invented her in August '09. To introduce her, I'm giving you a sneak peak into the private journal of Logan Westward, son of the owners of Climax Stables.

Took Vivace to Spectre Hill this morning for some trail riding. Beautiful morning, blue sky, trees flowering. Found some hoof prints around the spring – not sure whose they were. Horse was unshod, looked a bit smaller than Vivace. Asked around, no one rode near the spring recently. Keep eyes open.

Had Caroline* and the Fancies** over for Canada Day barbeque on lawn. Skoll*** loved it, though many people were scared of him...eventually some warmed up and had him doing tricks, sent him over the agility course. Kids were eager to give him their hot dogs. Some of us rode up to the north pastures after, had some pony games. One girl said she saw a horse grazing in the next pasture. Maybe she saw a deer? We didn’t have any horses out there that day.

Went to the barn this morning, could hardly believe what I saw at Soffe’s pasture! I was walking past the gate when sun came out, saw a golden mare leaping over the fence on the far side! Looks about four years old, buckskin, very friendly and tame when I went in there. She didn’t have any identifying marks, no one recognized her. She and Soffe love each other all ready...makes me wonder if she’s been stopping by for a while. Huge mess, burs, tangles, mud, etc. Handles fine, let me groom and clean her hooves. Won’t stay in the paddock. She can jump like a deer...I can’t wait to try riding her.

Buckskin filly standing outside barn this morning. Gave her some feed, she followed me inside willingly. Accepted a halter with a bit of fuss. Very curious, hardly leaves Soffe. Fed her in stall next to Soffe’s, filly seemed happy to stay there. Mom and Dad calling around to see if anyone’s lost a horse. Who lost her must be upset – she’s a beautiful horse, obviously valuable. Amazing action, conformation, temperament. Out of shape but still energetic. Spent couple hours working on her coat. She looks less wild now.

Still no news about filly’s owner. Mom and Dad say I can keep her if there’s no claim. Naming her Lothlorien, Lori for short. Did some work in the round pen, she’s a quick learner. Got a saddle and bridle on her easily. Only a little riding so far, but she’s so graceful and energetic – can’t wait to ride her again. Got to go slowly.
