I went back and watched every one of his old shorts. This salty cyclops is about as overpowered as Superman. I just love the guy. Masterfully drawn, and masterfully done!

This guy was the best thing Fleischer Productions ever did. I just love his shorts.

You don't know the half of it since he was at one time even more popular than Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny.

Understandable. He predated Bugs Bunny, and practically walked alongside Mickey Mouse, chronologically speaking. Granted, the two animation companies were based on opposite ends of the country, Disney and Fleischer I mean, and that worked to the disadvantage of one. The Disney Company got off to a somewhat rockier start than Fleischer, but due to their strategic location on the West Coast, where the film industry was rapidly evolving, and most of their productions catering to a much wider demographic, Disney's popularity grew to eclipse Fleischer Brothers. But of all their characters, I believe Popeye has survived the longest, and aged the best (I mean, there's also Betty Boop, but she is not necessarily an animated character anymore, so much as a marketing tool for car air fresheners and the like). And yes, I believe his comically overpowered, comedic nature may have inspired several notable characters in the following years, in the East and the West. After all, the anime genre got its start mimicking western comics and cartoons.
Also, friendly word of advice. While I understood what you meant by saying I don't know the half of it, there are some who might not be so accommodating, and a few might even take it as an outright insult. Best never to underestimate an anonymous pair of hands behind a keyboard.

Oh man, this takes me way back. Great job on this. The way Popeye's feet are digging into the ground trying to stop his movement remind me of a few fight scenes from anime. I can tell this fight is not going to end well for Bluto.

Popeye: Man among Men!
This is pretty beastly - they need to make a new video game starring the Pop'ster; Spinach mode gives you God strength, and entire cites get wrecked as you kick ass.
Awesome picture.

They should make a more modern extreme version of Popeye, similar to how this picture portrays.
(I kind of imagined the picture portraying Popeye being knocked back by one of Bluto's punches, hence the the ground and direction he's facing.)
That would be one awesome show.

If you actually read any of the old Thimble Theater strips (the comic strip he originally appeared in) he was portrayed as badass.
