While Del never really cared about Cory after his parents dropped his egg off at the nook, Del was still giving the (albeit bare minimum) necessities Cory needed. One of these things was brushing his hair since Cory couldnt give a damn what his annoying hair looked like. But despite that, Del was never the most gentle, and often just grabbed Cory's hair and started to brush it or pull it back without warning. It hurt, but Del always yelled at him if Cory complained about it.
