Description A Thorn By Any Other Name

Its funny how my trips to the Arboretum are either extremely successful, and I come away with days and days of photos to submit, and then sometimes I leave with maybe 2 shots I actually like. This was one of those two shot days. Well, at least of plants.

On the day I very lovingly misplaced my glasses, the only photos that really came out well were the ones of my cousins little girl. They were all well composed, great lighting, and her face in some of them was just perfect. But on the plant side of things, I was doing quite a bit of failing that day. But I did get two I was quite happy with, one you have already seen, and today's photo.

This one is the first flower that I have edited in Lightroom, and I am loving the true freedom in mangling the colors Lightroom gives me. This was also the first time I used the split toning feature, and was quite happy with the result.

Enjoy
