Description
This is the first large canvas I had painted. I painted it a year ago and it was the start of me getting back into my art again. Since the kids have come along I hadn't picked up the paintbrush in over 5 years. It was my Dads passing that gave me the kick up the backside to get back into it again.

I have always wanted to paint something that reminded me of my childhood and this is it. It holds every memory I have of Africa from the animals on Safari to the flowers found in the bush and our back yard. I really liked the artwork in the tinga tinga tales ( a childrens tv series) After doing some research I found that there is a whole tinga tinga art style that started off from Tanzania which is where this show got its inspiration from. I have used inspiration from this style to put this piece together.

I also wanted to represent my family in this piece, my kids have loved watching me paint this as the characters represent all of us
