Description A generic Chae doing his blue jay thing. A quick concept sketch done in about thirty minutes, all digitally (that's a first for me).

Now I understand how does this thing works... This guy is a regular Chae (fun how you worked up the phonetics here, Jay vs Chae... you can't fool me, hehe...) as far as I understand now there must be more races around this world you've created, especially that other planet.

Ah, and in the upper corner it reads Chae btw...

Now that I see this one, this is aproximately how did you style of birds become a little more human than the previous one.

Yep, he's just a regular Chae And yea, there are several races, though only really 3 pseudo-families: Hawks and the similar sized birds, jays and crow-sized birds, and sparrow-sized birds. For this world actually, genetic differences are not significant enough to prevent interbreeding, but such occurances are very uncommon between the size "families" It's not impossible for birds on adjacent sides of the "family boundaries" - like a small jay and a large sparrow XD...as weird as that would be...or perhaps a large crow and a small hawk. Though like I said, it's rare and mostly stays within these size groups. However (at least for this point in the evolutionary time scales) these sizes haven't diverged enough to be classified as "speceies", though the Karo (from Chapter 1) might be since they are on a sperate planet...(though in the story it's not clear WHY there are birds there....and it's not product of independent, convergent evolution. But they've been their long enough that they might be genetically different enough).

Hehe, yes it reads Chae

But yes, although this isn't fully "modern" in terms of my bird styles, (to stay on this evolutionary theme...) but it's the "(non-)missing link" that sort of bridges the older style with the newer.

I see, so it's not convergent evolution, and because of also it would be sacriledge from my part to say that humans had something to do herein the process, cause if so humans are not cannonic, so eliminated from the conversation. Funny combinations, I personaly don't think I would like to see some of them, lol.

I knew it!!! this isn't difficult as it seemed before, georgian alphabet is more difficult than yours.

Hey, I didn't say that's you modern style, remember I have the eye for understanding that previously, what I said was in some way simmilar to what you told me here it's the bridge, I guess we can't avoid correcting each other while making a step in false. But yea it works as a bridge, where the more birdlike previous drawings of yours began to become more human in terms of forms, of course you've made some changes, especially when talking about the girls you've created, these are features that of course can't be forgoten, can they?

Yea, I'm trying avoide all human input to the canon (partly why I have so many differnt names and ideas for things that birds would do or say differently, e.g. the difference between "bedroom" and "nesting loft/roost" or "bed" and "nest" - granted I'll still use the human term for nest since to not do so would be terribly confusing...really, in "ideal-land" this entire thing would be in their own languages, but then only the most determined would ever put the effort in to read it - let alone my own patience at writing such a thing would be thin indeed lol.

Georgian has quite a few more letters than mine does...in fact for the most part, there are around half of what's present in "Aves Script" since things like "g" and "k" are basically the same letter, just vocalized or not so the letter in Aves would only have one unique symbol for k/g + a little marker off the bottom to indicate the g or k use.

Well, I did use "modern" partly because it is my most recent stlying system...any this piece in fact dose represent some of the stylistic changes I made towards the more shaply figures I use today. Granted, the depiction within the story itself is somewhere in between the newer and the older styles - it's up to the reader to decide for sure. And hehe, yes, the girls do tend to take a more "curvy" look than the would naturally, but this goes back to the aesthetic we as humans tend to look for to discern gender. (plus they just look so good like that too XD).

Well, yes, don't worry too much about trying to make that so natural in the talking in your story, with the level of bird naturality you have right now is enough, keep in mind that as far as I noticed in chapter I it is suposed that although we can see and read it in english in fact you're explicity showing that the characters are speaking in other language, so the meanings in human terms can be infered based on the context, translated to its human equivalent.

Oh, interesting, I was wondering how you could made those sounds, you see I was making a colection of my name written in different scripts, and I was having problems on how to make the k of Moltke in my name, and I was frozen, I still have to see that marker, but it will be something for another time, it's enough fun for now with text.

Yeah, I can see those differences are kinda progressive as time passes. Of course girls look very good like that, if not then we would have a problem...

Yeah, it's a really nice picture. The expression amuses me for some reason, it's like he's inspecting his wingtip for dust.
