Tears silently rolled down my cheeks as I sat on the side of the bed. The darkness of the room was choking me, the remains of my nightmares slinking in the shadows. Not nightmares....realities. Memories from a time were I had taken the title of Sith Lord, a time when the darkside had consumed me totally. And yet, it still threatens me. Clutching at the reaches of my mind. Reminding, tempting, whispering. Suddenly, the doorway slides open. I jump slightly at the ray of brighteness in the dark room, but don't turn to see who was there. I don't want any of the crew seeing me like this, weak and broken. Definitely not as they were heading into the Unknown on a mission to rescue Bastila and destroy the Star Forge. I'm supposed to be strong for them, not weeping in the dark because of a bad dream. Footsteps pad up behind me. Carth. His soild step was impossible not to recognize. I was so glad we had spoken earlier, finally cleared the air between us after the discovery onboard the Leviathan. Even now, a warmth spread across my heart at his words. He loved me, and it was more than I could ever ask for. Or deserve. Grief overcame me again. I didn't want him to see me like this, I just needed sometime alone, to straighten myself out.
Without saying a word, or waiting for one, he gently placed his jacket across my hunched shoulders. The warm material smelled like it's owner, instantly comforting me. It was too big for me, making me feel small. It was the same sensation when he wrapped me in his arms, his strong body protecting me from any danger.
I exhale, allowing myself a small smile. He let his hand rest on my shoulder for just a moment, then he was gone, pausing a moment in the doorway before sliding it shut again...

This is my submission for the Carthfangirls contest "The Jacket"!! Sorry it was alittle late, and THANKYOU for extending the deadline!!! Anyway, this was really fun to do and I'm very pleased with how it came out!
