I love this purely for its simplicity... [link]

this is wonderful. I saw only a few of the Tintin cartoons, but never saw this. Still, it is a very fine work even for short amount of time.

btw, I just got a new computer and downloaded the ver.8 (I prefer 7 since I am more familiar with it but couldn't find one to d/l)
I read the PDF file, and most of that (the correct way) I have actually been doing by accident I guess. The only think I would argue about is the idea that "making something into a component saves space". I tried (on my older/bigger computer) to make a castle and actually made blocks which I then made into a wall, etc. etc. and got about halfway through it and the file locked up/couldn't open it again. I presumed because making components DIDN'T save space. ?!?
Perhaps there is a limitation to making instances of an item?
Another example is when I made my time tunnel [link] and I made light globes, light tiles and catwalks first as items or groups (that's how you make lights with ver. 7.1) then made those into components.
(lights grouped into bunches of 30 or 50 and made into one component then copied that component numerous times. fyi, I had about 5,000 light tiles at one point and only 8 catwalks). It wasn't near finished and yet it was getting exceedingly sluggish to handle and wait time on renderings took anywhere up to 24 hours each!
I still must be doing something intrinsically wrong.
If you don't mind saying, which render program are you using??
