Description The Kraken Cuff; sterling silver, star ruby, velvet obsidian, opal, and citrine chrysoprase.

This was inspired by summer, in a way. As I float out upon the waves of the Gulf, with the mysteries of the sea below me, I can't help but wonder what creatures may lurk beneath me in the darker depths. Just me and my inflatable lounging mattress bobbing along with the shore disappearing and noticing that there isn't anyone else that far from shore. I tend to go a little further out than some. But, I always tend to find my way back

Love this!

How thick was the copper plate that you etched?

Thank you,

This one is all sterling with a patina. I believe that it is roller printed, probably 18-20 gauge. I can't remember the details, as it sold pretty quick.

I etched a copper plate with ferric chloride, making designs embedded with symbols. Then I ran the copper through the mill with a sheet of annealed silver to transfer the design.

Thanks!!!

I absolutely love the color and texture of the band. The stone selection and color arrangement are unique, bold, great design!

Thanks!!! I wish that I could have gotten the opalescence of the opals and the obsidian to show up. or, even the star on the ruby. But, I think that the color of the stones came through.

Although it's not rare, I have a hard time finding velvet and rainbow obsidian that I like. But, when you use it with opal, it really pops.

Thanks again

Try using a key fob LED for an adjustable light source when taking your shots. I use one for pointing light where I want it in the picture. Most of the LEDs today are UV light emission with a phospor converter. It can really charge up your stones. Maybe even get that star you were looking for.

Cool, what kind of LED? Like a laser pointer or something?

Whatever you see at the department store in automotive, LED flashlight or key fob light.

Thanks, I can't log in to DA anymore from work, and there's not an APPs for DA for the iPhone. So, it's hard to get on here this year. Which is sad, because it is my favorite site, but I will do my best.
Enjoy the rains

Thanks again!!
