It's finally finished. I mean, it has been for a while, but... >_> I haven't signed it yet. I don't know where to put the signature. XD So, sorry about the ugly watermark. >w>You can tell i got lazy with this piece... when it came to the smaller, finer details. I phail at tedious work. Lawlz. orz Yeah you can totally see the little stuff that's out of whack.
I don't know if i like the.. the music sheet. Someone please help me with (gentle) constructive criticism. orz;;;

Hands are notoriously difficult to paint especially in such a stretched and unusual position while playing piano, so I think you've done pretty well considering the ambitious composition here. I particularly like the girl's sleeve, it has a real sense of soft fabric.

Hi, First, thank you for the comment on "Art Brushes"!! I was really drawn to this piece. I really like the movement with lighting; how the dark on the left side acts as an anchor, holding the eye to the center of the painting. The two pieces of sheet music also draws the eyes down to the two hands. (Just a bit of critique: the right hand is nice, in proportion. The left hand looks a bit odd. You could have held your own hand out in the same position and used that as a measurement for form and proportion.) As for your signature...I think a creative place to sign would be on the right side just above the keys, following the same angle. I think it is very creative when an artist signs within the painting. A lot of pianos have the manufacturers name in the middle, above the keys! Just a thought, if you haven't already signed. Very well done!! Acrylic is hard, I think, because it dries so fast and is unforgiving, unlike oils.

Your critique is graciously taken!! Yeah, the left hand is the eyesore of the painting. I was finishing this up the day before it was due and i just half-gave up after all the cramming and it just... stayed that way. X\ But thanks so much! Once i get it back, 'm definitely going to fix it up. :] AND i will definitely and finally put my signature on it !! I think that's an awesome idea to place my sig on the piano. :0 Yeah, i have never done oils before but i was watching my friend paint with them and, wow, they take a really long time to dry!! It must be easier to blend... but yeah, i've only worked with acrylic and watercolor as far as painting. :0

i think the notes and lines on the music sheet add a whimsical feel to the piece....like...the music is alive. I can hear the music through your strokes. nice work. -
