nice capture, the amount of detail is really nuts!
did you blend 2 pictures together? as it seems to me that you have some blending or even sharpening artifacts around the corners of these rocks reaching into the sky.

Thanks, man. No, this wasn't a mosaic. I suppose there might be some sharpening artifacts? I didn't notice anything, but I definitely need a better viewing source for my processing. I did, however, apply some lens corrections in PS -- some vertical distortion correction, specifically, which might account for the distortion you're talking about (which, I am not sure if I actually see).

now I'm pretty sure these are sharpening artifacts, just look at the thin white border around these two rock peaks reaching into the sky.
