Description This is the well-known B17 'Sally B' taxiing at Duxford in 1991, without the 'chin turret'. One of the ground staff is waving his arms about and it looks a bit as if the B17 is about to wallop the windsock, although it might be the angle of view. This is from an old 35mm negative so not brilliant but I thought it worth including.

B-17 booked to appear at Southport later in the month... Should be quite something! Now then, do I watch 'Memphis Belle' to get in the mood?

I thought 'Memphis Belle' was a bit corny. I would recommend 'Twelve O'clock High' or 'The War Lover'.

Ah, Sally B in her Memphis Belle guise - such a nice capture! ^_^

I would have seen her the year after, when she was present at the Zoersel fly-in (only the second airshow I ever attended).

In fact, I just found a clip from that year where she cameos in (not by me, unfortunately - I don't have pictures of that year, only the airshow's booklet)

That's a great clip of the DC3 passing Sally B and I liked the following one in the cockpit too!
