Description British Railways Class 5 4-6-0 No. 73096 passes the site of Bournewood Sidings, east of St Mary Cray, Kent, on the 11.50 Victoria - Canterbury West, June 30, 2004. For some reason they restored 73096 with the inset type of tender as attached to earlier number series rather than the high sided tender attached to 73096 when in service.

This bridge across the line just west of Swanley station was a good vantage point for photography until the powers that be covered it with mesh to prevent suicides (not that I remember any). Some enterprising souls cut holes in the mesh but it was never the same.......

Gosh, you really know your trains!
We also have lots of fences and steel railings on our bridges. But that's not against suicide, it's against people being thrown off!

Nice photo . But in my opinion, The situation with the tender of 73096 is a bit like that of 2H no.1125, something isn't true about that engine in preservation, but I have come to prefer it that way.

Thanks! Well yes, I like it that way too and have modelled it in this guise. My suspicion is that this tender type was chosen to give a more 'original' look. I think she has ben running with it now for longer than when she had her BR1C type in BR service
