Description
A handful of Great Westerns have popped up in a box of forgotten negatives so I will feed these in as and when. This is No. '9351' at Minehead on October 1, 2004, on completion of her restoration and conversion to a mogul from GWR 'large prairie' No. 5193. The GWR had once proposed, but never built, a small-boilered mogul and 9351 is the West Somerset's take on what such a machine would have looked like. A handsome result, I would say. When I took this picture, the final GWR lettering had yet to be applied.Related content

Not that i find anything wrong with it.

I think they probably decided that there were enough large prairie tanks running and they wanted to recreate a GWR design that never made it off the drawing board.
