Description
The recent visit of 'Flying Scotsman' to Cornwall brought forth rather a glut of photographs of the great locomotive in the West of England. Hence I have saved this picture until now.

The speed limit past the GWR depot at Laira, Plymouth, is 70mph. Nos. 60103 'Flying Scotsman' and Black 5 44871 (hidden under the exhaust) must have been doing all of that heading east past a grey Laira with the Cathedrals Express on October 8, 2018.

I took the picture from this side to make the train not the primary focus but as part of the whole depot scene and also to ensure that 'Cleopatra's Needle', the accursed radio mast, was not growing out of the train in my shot. They couldn't have put it in a worse place.

The HSTs in shot give an 'old and new' aspect and will, in turn, become 'heritage.'
