I love this shot, generally I love most sunset/rise shots. Especially ones that are a lovely shade of red like this. :fave:

Beautifully done, did you use a filter to make sure the colours came out so vibrant.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CoupeKid In reply to Huomenna [2006-11-19 13:23:54 +0000 UTC]

Ooooh good spot! Yes indeed, a Cokin orange graduated filter was used, then a very slight tweak in Photoshop after.

Many thanks!

Huomenna In reply to CoupeKid [2006-11-19 13:48:12 +0000 UTC]

Thats alright. i've given up trying to do sunsets because as I still have a compact didgi cam, can't use filters and I don't have photoshop software, hence I end up with very washed out colours.

CoupeKid In reply to Huomenna [2006-11-19 17:42:02 +0000 UTC]

Course you can!
Especially with the Cokin filter system, you just have to be a little imaginative. Simply hold the filter in front of the lense, and forcethe camera to under expose. If you dont have manual over-ride, meter off the brighter parts of the sun. Give it a go, trust me, you can get excellent results!

Ok I'll give it a try, or try and convince my dad to lend me his camera, which is professional

CoupeKid In reply to Huomenna [2006-11-20 14:00:11 +0000 UTC]

yeah you should! another tip which I used to do, is to use a coloured sweet wrapper (from those tins of chocs like Roses) its amazing the effects you can create on the cheap!

Hell only in sky colour, my friend. What a superb image. It'd be interesting to see this at the other end of the day, just to get a bit of a contrast happening.

Nice shot man, I went out today with the intent of taking some autumn shots but ended up with a load of sunset shots, and seeing as how my last submission was a sunset i don't feel i can submit any. Haha!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CoupeKid In reply to q-118 [2006-11-19 00:34:34 +0000 UTC]

Cheers buddy!

I know the feeling well, me and my mate went out with the specific intention of getting 'Autumn Colour' and for a mini competition on a forum ([link] ) which I frequent.
We ended up getting hardly any Autumn Colour, and shed loads of sunset shots!

You should post yer sunset shots mate, if I thought like that, I would only have one wolf shot! ha ha!
