Description If you have gone through my figure study so far, you will recognize these. I simply took the figure studies that I have already done and remade them into digital works. Here you can see my digital process. I scan traditional drawings and sketches (1st column) I add color in a second layer (2nd column) and than add shadows in another layer (3rd column) I will be experimenting more with digital works, and probably more with bodies, because I've begun to consider creating a comic book... (like i actually have time for that...)

Anyway, I hope you like it, and maybe find this to be useful!

Technique

Impact

Hello there,
First things first, I appreciate that you have taken your time to sketch out a very fine looking reference sheet for the male torso and back side for upcoming artist to study for their own improvement.

Staring off from the introduction, I have given you five stars on the Vision category for your short and sweet step by step demonstration on how to; Draw, Color, and Shade shade body parts such as this torso and back side. Many deviants on here probably try to seek help verily with the shading and you've seem to appropriately put the shading in accordance to where the point of light is being shown.

Next, for Originality, I didn't feel secure on giving you a full five stars as there are very many form of reference on the male torso and back side out there but I did feel appropriate giving you a high star count as you have made this reference with many different viewpoints available than some references do not show.

For Technique there are really two sides two this coin; is it a great reference for people to go to for Realistic reference and/or Cartoon reference. But, for this reference I have given you five stars due to it being a reference the reflects the rim that is the middle of said coin. For an example of what I mean, please refer to EmptyFeet, a artist on YouTube that uses this type of technique for his animations.

Lastly, for your Impact. Automatically I must give you five stars because this is a terrific and well presented reference for really anybody to use to improve. Use of this reference will impact many artist's lives as they strive to grow as an artist.

Thank you for letting me critique your work as I too am a growing artist with high dreams and aspirations (and a phone with over 300 different references for idea sparking).

Stay arty,
Melody Wallace

How about shoulder shrugs? Like the back with both shoulders in a shrugging position?
