Description Aerie (the blonde Elf) and Jaheira from the Baldur's Gate series of games.

These two will fight over the Player Character in the game's 'romance', culminating in Aerie saying some shocking things about Jaheira's relationship with her dead husband. Of course, the reason it's shocking is because of how out of character it is for Aerie... When its Viconia saying stuff like that noone takes any notice because that's pretty normal.

Anyway, that was said when Aerie was upset, angry and at the height of her depression so its not useful to read much into it. I sense these two actually a very deep and complex relationship. We see at other times in the game that Aerie clearly admires Jaheira and tries to impress her, whereas Jah no doubt sees Aerie's potential and is trying to toughen her for the road ahead.

That's a very nice moment here.

I see Aerie's and Jaheira's relationship as being more like mother and daughter as the series goes on. Or perhaps similar to little sister and older sister. They may not get along perfectly at first, but that's typical for Jaheira. She respects people who are strong and capable, even if they aren't fierce, fearless warriors (see: Khalid). So as Aerie proves herself, she would come to respect her. Characters' interactions are one of the more interesting aspects of this game.
