Description Right. I couldn't make Taste a scrap because I liked it too much and the same applies to this one. I drew them during the same lunchbreak and I've taken my time to ponder the appropriate media for each. Taste got the colored pencils and this one got playing around with Painter. I think I picked well.

The "She" in question is Princess Marlene. I wanted to do something properly moody and evocative with her character design, because how can you not given her spoilery backstory. I really enjoy the combination of lots of tiny thin ink lines and lots of broad simple color strokes and may use it again for more of my Okage 100.

I originally did something with more stark shading and contrasts, but I liked the washed out look. Suited the aesthetics better. And the ability to tweak all that and still keep most of your work? Is why I am spoiled against traditional media. Painter 9, watercolor brushes.

I love the lighting in this piece, and her little legs look adorable! It reminds me of a Harry Potter cover I just did for my Narrative Illustration class XD and the lighting in that situation is tough to do! Awesome job :3

I love the way this one came out. I'm a sucker for back-shots like this. It kind of gives off a melancholy or thoughtful mood.

That's such a cool idea. I love her dress. I love teh whole idea of it... the backs of shoes are SO hard to draw! Kudos, Sae <3

Thanks, Molly ^_^ (plus, you know, for commenting so much on other things too) Backs of shoes are almost as hard as front on dress shoes. Those kill me.
