One of the things I wanted to do more of this year was backgrounds, and as I do I'm learning backgrounds aren't really hard they're just tedious. If you're not used to drawing them, use lots of references and draw from life rather than trying to go purely off imagination! (Not that you should ever use pure imagination when you're doing something new or unfamiliar, but especially not when it's something as complicated as a background xD) Good luck!!

It is sad because in the movie, it seemed like Spinel and Cotton Garnet were becoming friends or something, dancing together and getting excited together. I don't know if they'll get that again.

spinel is absolutely a fine allegory for adolescence, being brought into a world of happy lies and feeling of abandonment when we wake up from it, but not all of us have a role model like garnet there for us <3
more so than Steven being more of an allegory for puberty, I feel like spinel really touches of a more political+philosophical issue
