Description Time for another train update! I had actually forgotten this one, until i was editing a video with trains from Odense. xD

Egon was built in April 1953 to do shunting at Nyborg Carriage Maintanance depot, and was only known as "57" by the other shunters

In 1970, he was moved to DSB Locomotive workshop at Otto Busses Vej in Copenhagen, and was painted orange on arrival.

Egon became famous in 1975 for his mainrole in the Danish folkcomedy movie "Olsen Banden På Sporet", and quickly gained the name Egon, after the leader of the gang, Egon Olsen.

Egon remained at DSBs Locomotive workshop until 1986, where he was painted in DSB black/red livery and moved to Helsingør (Elsinore in English) to move around the new EAs.

Egon was finally withdrawn in 1989, being sold to the Railway Museum in Odense, being painted back in Orange and shortly returning to Otto Busses Vej, for a three year stay.

He was moved to the Railway museum in 1992 to be an exhibition, while being heavily renovated in 2001.

In 2015, Egon, alongside a small freight van was sold to the NWR who wanted to run him on the East Sodor Heritage Railway. (ESHR). He arrived in early 2016.

In August 2016, the newly renamed Sodor Railways had bought a look-a-like of the picnic coach he towed around as a job in the Olsen Banden movie, for Egon to pull passengers with. The van had in the meanwhile been rebuilt to work as a windowless brake and storage van, while also been given the same treatment, as the van originally used in the movie.

Egon soon grew a like to people, both young and old, who wanted to know, what it was like being a film star. Egon tells about it whenever he takes passengers.

In 2021, Egon was given Emil's Bn-x coach, for children to be in, much to Egon's delite.

In 2022, Egon was heavily rebuilt with a new and more powerful engine to be able to haul his train without straining himself too hard. He returned in October that year.

As of February 2024, Egon is still popular amongst the visiters to the ESHR, and loves his life as a retired shunter, pulling passengers and telling stories of his past.
