Description Brandon Creek with small corrach in the harbour. The mountains of Brandon range are the back drop. This is the west of Ireland at it's most peaceful and is one of my favourite places on the peninsula.

Thank you, each place has its own atmosphere and hence, I suppose, photographic style. Magic is here if you look for it!

We can find magic anywhere we want, but all we need is to believe in magic. It differs from eye to eye and from person to person.I hope you understand the kind of magic I am talking about! You are most welcome!

I know, I know... there is magic in the waters and magic in the heather... actually its all pretty amazing and I think that is why we are photographers - to celebrate the magic of our existence...

This looks to be a peaceful place to be, but may I ask why there seem to be no trees ? Did people clear them all, over the centuries or is this, somehow, the natural terrain ? I'm just interested to know.
Squishy and boggy, eh? One needs good rubber boots too, ... to walk into this wonderful scene. Is the squishy terrain the reason why there's no trees, or is it possibly vice-versa ? If the land is such, what farming has traditionally been there, if any? Is it still farmland ?

Wow, so many questions, you must have been a very good freelance! Actually it is nice to be asked about the countryside I live in... thank you! It is very peaceful, if not many people means peace, it can be very dramatic in a winter storm when peace is not the word I would use to portray the scene. And yes the trees once grew in the valleys but most were cut and used to make.. of all things... Spanish sherry casks.... and the terrain is about as natural as 900 years of sheep can make it... if you look carefully you will see all those white dots in the fields... they are sheep, there are more sheep than people! West Kerry Lamb is famous and delicious, but mainly the place relies on tourists...

Thank you for informing me about the country-side where you live. It seems a lovely part of the world ... perhaps, one day I may know it better ... by visiting there ...
