Description One of the most beautiful lakes in the world is in Killarney, surrounded by mountains and edged by erroded limestone. It has an unusual shape full of hidden bays and lost shorelines. Best seen on a dramatic but dry day. I took this shot underneath a strawberry tree (native to here).

Strawberry tree? Exactly how tall do they get and they do bear large strawberries right?

The strawberry tree is about 3 meters to about 5 meters generally and looks a little like a laurel. It is highly deadly in an Irish way... Of course it bares giant strawberries about 30cm in size but these are difficult to get at on account of the leprechauns, who shinny up the trunk and eat them before they are ripe. This upsets the fairys who then throw so much magic about that any unwary general public member is immediatly transformed into a mushroom... hence the mushroom rings that always grow around the trunk of these trees... approach with caution.

Thanks thats nice of you.... the water is a few degrees below pleasant, but not fatal... The loch Ness Monster is Scottish and big and brutal as is Loch Ness, but this lake is a haunting place and hence is haunted by the water spirit in the form of a woman (always a woman) who can lure the unlucky male into the depths, tis said the lake has no bottom to it.... so I recken there must be all sorts of stuff still sinking in there!!
