After being in the Pridelands for a few weeks Sarabi could safely say that she regretted the agreement to the marriage. Although Mufasa was handsome and strong; he was also a big airhead who didn't know when to shut up and couldn't take a hint. he didn't even properly introduce himself when she first arrived. He just grinned, kissed her cheek (much to her disgruntlement), and frolicked away to 'patrol the border'. No hello, no it's nice to meet you, no introductions to any of the other pridemembers. The only ones she knew were Cheka and his mate Sarafina.
She was walking up the rocks to the den when she heard the prince bantering behind her. As she turned she realized he was actually talking to her. Well, talking at her at least. She growled a bit to herself as he got closer and started talking about his day patrolling, his lessons from his mother and Taka, and how the Gazelles and Zebras were at war with each other over who got to eat from the freshest grass.
"And then I say to Taka that we can't be aggressive in a situation like this. If we spook the herds we would have a hard time hunting for the rest of the season. And with it being the dry season that would make it ten times worse! So-" Sarabi zoned him out and made a hop for her favorite sunbathing spot hoping to catch a few more rays before it got dark. He hopped right behind her. "Although I must say we're doing really well for the dry season. The grass is so plush and I don't see why the herds are fighting over it. It all looks the same to me."
Seeing Sarabi starting to lay down and seeing the scowl that seemed to constantly be on her face when he was near Mufasa got quite.
"So how was your day Sarabi? You always look upset and I just want to see you happy. I know it's probably frustrating being moved to a new place with new strangers; I've been trying to include you in our talks but I feel like you hate me."
She didn't know how to respond. This was the first time since she came to these lands that her betrothed asked her how she was feeling. Let alone tell her why he was always talking her ear off.
"Well, maybe a simple 'Hello' will suffice."

HEADCANNON. MUFASA IS A GIANT NERD WHO DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO INTERACT WITH FEMALES AND HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO INTERACT WITH SARABI WHEN SHE FIRST CAME.
Also I forgot how frustrating painting your own backgrounds is. But I know its something I neeeeeed to work on so I forced myself to do it. I really need to looks up some tutorials on it...
