No they are not. It just happens to be that pedophilia is illegal. Not even pedophilia is illegal, but having the actual intercourse, not even consensual is allowed, as far as i can tell. People who are solely attracted to children (something they have NO control over and something they are NOT responsible for) resort to rape, because they are not being satisfied by adult men or women. But not all pedophiles, even if they are hardcore-pedophiles, resort to rape, only the really frustrated.
Being a pedophile is like being gay, only pedophilia is not allowed because of moral reasons.
And i get that, I'm not saying it should be allowed. I'm saying, heads up. They are people. People, who have a sexual preference, that is not respected in the system we partake in now. They are not evil.

I think age of consent has some sense as approximation of age at which a person has knowledge of what is sex drive, knowledge of consequences of entering sexual relationship and strength to assess it and refuse it. When an adult tries to enters sexual relationship with a person without one of this traits it has potential to be immoral and harmful act. If i get a consent from a young child to trade his watch for a coin worth very little, it surely doesn't make this trade fair.

No, it is not. That pedophiles are rapist is an assumption, not a fact. Like I stated, there are times in the human history that sex with children was allowed, it was not morally wrong there in any way. From our standpoint today, it is. It's a synthesis of morals. In a few hundred years we might get back to that behavior, that we now find deplorable.
Rape is bad. I'm not saying rape isn't bad. I'm just saying there is a difference between sexual attraction and rape.

I already told you something, that I keep a secret most times, while browsing the web, simply because it does not really matter. In this situation it does, that is why I am telling you this. I am still underage, I am 16. If you can say that this is pedophilia, then yes, I am a pedophile.
That's a moral dilemma here, that isn't easy to solve. When am I forbidden to fantasize about other humans, my age and a little bit down? In my headcanon, Scootaloo is 12-13. Is this morally alright?
But when am I actually forbidden to fantasize about anything? Am I no longer allowed to fantasize about things, that the general public finds deplorable? If I fantasize about rape, do I rape someone? If I fantasize about killing my headteacher, do I actually kill him? If I fantasize about burning down my school, do I actually do it?
No. Thoughts don't hurt anybody. And my art (if you can call it that at this point) reflects my thoughts.
Also, there is no rape in this picture, no child is molested or raped. This relationship I am picturing here is consensual. Look at the picture again, imagine what the characters are thinking. Then you'll see that this picture does NOT resemble any of the traits you find incorrect and accuse me of.

I like how throughout the entire reply you didn't adress the issue that paedophilia actually is rape. If the kid can't give consent in a logical manner, of course it's rape. The same reason it's rape with the mentally handicapped. There's no such thing as consent with paedophiles, since the kid can't give consent.

Now, if EVERY pedophile would have sex with a child, then yes, it would be rape. But it isn't, because not every pedophile acts after their own urges, they don't do that for the sake of the society, because they are actually decent people.
