Description Yup, I made another Tardis. Why? Most likely because I'm crazy and like to torture myself. >.< Actually the simple answer if because I unexpectedly sold the first one and I still really wanted another one to sell at my convention this weekend. So Tardis 2.0 was made.

If you look at the original one, you'll notice I've made some changes. Namely that being the size. This Tardis has the proper proportions to match the one from the show ( a whole inch taller) and has a slightly different construction of the roof. This is much more like what I wanted the first one to look like but, live and learn as they say. Pattern creating is always an interesting experience. >.<

Another thing to note for this Tardis is I put a layer of very thin cardboard on the bottom and sides to help it keep it's rigid box shape better once it was stuffed. The cardboard is thin enough to allow much hugging and loving, though without feeling hard and unmovable. ^_^ I shall call this a success and have altered my pattern accordingly. *nods*

And yes, is has a sound chip in it. ^_~The sound chip is activated when you press the light on top of the phone box and plays the Tardis dematerialization noise. I've finally created a short video of the sound card in action and it can be viewed here on my youtube account.

Time: approx. 20 hours
Materials: Yarn, Thread, Poly-fil, Cardboard, Felt

That's pretty accurate! If you decide to sell or make available, the pattern, I'll be onto that! Good job.

Thank you ^_^ I'm pretty proud of the accuracy as well, so I love hearing that others also enjoy it.

Due to the nature of copyright law though, I unfortunately cannot sell the pattern. I've heard too many horror stories about people who have had to shut down their entire business just for offering a few patterns and it's not something I'm willing to entertain as a result. Which really is a shame since a TARDIS just takes so long to make, I'd love to just share it instead of making them, lol. I have shared the pattern privately with a few people though via email after obtaining their written consent to not post the pattern online or sell the finished product, so if that is something you would be willing to agree to then please feel free to send me a message: nicole@craftigurumi.com

Funny enough, at the convention I sold this at, all the older crowd knew the Tardis, but didn't know any of the Doctors DX

OMG... Here via the post on Time & Chips on LJ, and this is just GORGEOUS. How much would you sell one of these as a commission for? I want a huggable TARDIS!

Welcome and thanks for giving my gallery here a look lol, and thank you I'm glad you like it! I spent a lot of time creating this pattern and I'm very happy with how it looks.

I've sold each TARDIS in my gallery for $80 and $65, with the sound card in the first one causing the main price difference as that alone costs $13. >.< Now is the best time to commission me as I have LOTS of free time this summer so my turn around rate would be fairly quick. If you do want one, send me a note or an e-mail and work out the details.

^_^ And yes, the huggable level for it is quite high.

Lol, well, not hug really hard as that would bend the cardboard in this one but it a gentle squeeze is fine.

Not to mention this one doesn't have a sound card. The Tardis is sort of in a state of constant flux until I think it's perfect. Whenever I get around to making a third one I'll be trying to add a light on top as well.

You know I'm actually not as happy with this note as I am with the first one. Didn't take as much time to center things as well and such I think. >.<

Oh yes, I am a stickler for details. Good to know they make other people happy as well.

Lol, easy enough for me to picture thanks to the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Con I'll be going to this weekend. Shame I'll be working the Reg. Desk as it'd be awesome to catch someone acting that way upon seeing it.
