The next test journal and the next step towards my Steam Punk designed one.

With this journal I wanted to go for the more low end, well traveled look and I think I accomplished it pretty well. While the insides are similar to the fancy one, this one has gone through lots of weathering and detailing to make it a bit more personal. The covering is another faux-leather looking fabric with the nicer looking vinyl used for corner re-enforcement. Weather was done to the front inside (seen here) as well as the back.

Two of the nicest things about this journal for me were a happy accident. Firstly, the spine ended up having too much fabric so I got the idea to add the sewn-up spine and I love it. It was done with leather and I tied a simple lock key on there to go with the design on front, which was my other accident. I spilled some glue on the cover and in a rash suggestion from my roommate, turned it into a design. Specifically one of the Gallifrey language symbols I found online. I think it sorta looks like a journal someone might have used when traveling with the Doctor, or even just something from his library as a result. ^_^

Overall, I really liked a lot of elements from this one, so expect to see them on my prop journal as well, and just think it's a great looking piece all around. Definitely looking to sell it.
