Description Found this huge locust in my backyard. It measured about 3 inches in length. After photographing it, I had lost track of it only to find it again being attacked by ants.

That's not a locust. It's a Lubber, commonly found around the Everglades.

Super capture, i see most of your macro`s are 100mm focal length, are you using a Canon 100mm macro?

Takes some time to get used to it. I'm still not quite used to mine.

You have a wicked camera. How do you find all these wild insects? Do you spend the whole day searching?

All I ever find here are all the common lark. May get the occassional dragonfly but I'd never be able to get up close/zoom into it.

Ya know it's funny.. 90% of all my shots are taken in either my backyard or my neighbors.. Florida, go figure. It's really been a slow year for bugs, the first part of this year was really dry.
