Description I made a tutorial on how the embroidery hair was done here:

This is a very late Christmas present. Friends are moving up north, and they'll miss their horsies while they're gone. So I thought, eventhough it's late, they need horse plushies of their two horses, Samson & Doc. ^_^

Materials:

Light Tan Suede
Linen-like fabric
Embroidery thread for the mane & tail. The light-hair consisted of 2 tones of tan.
black buttons

Time: ~1 month total

Results:

Notice the irony of the horses on a saddle.

I used embroidery thread instead of fabric, since I knew they had good effects for hair.

Also, one was used mostly hand sewn, the other was used mostly machine sewn. Can you tell? If you can't, I won't. The machine sewn one, while was more difficult to control & I made more mistakes, I got it done in a fraction of the time from the hand-sewn, backstitched one.

So it was interesting having a separate challenge for each plush. Overall, pattern was pretty easy.

Pattern came from: and her very cute horsie pattern & tutorial here.

Aaww, thank you for the compliment, especially if you couldn't tell the difference! :-D While the sewing machine is faster, I get a much greater detail ^ control with hand sewing. Looks by your gallery that you do mostly hand-sewing, right?

yea, mine are all done by hand, because they're small & fiddly and i don't have anywhere to put a sewing machine. it takes a lot more patience to do yours surely!

(sorry for the late reply! i'm trying to get around to replying to all my messages!)

These guys are adorable--what great presents for your friends. The embroidery floss for the manes and tails looks really nice!

Yea, the embroidery floss is a little tricky to work with, but definitely worth it. Glad you like it!
