Description Say 'Hello' to Gyger (guy-grr)
He is a buckskin mustang gelding.
Loves to go trail riding and is very calm and gentle.

New plushie and new pattern
The horse and pattern itself took me approx. 10hr30m -phew-

The pictures show his wonderfulness <3 And the very difficult to make western tack.. The saddle was so hard to get that horn and such proper >.<

I am veeerrry proud of this guy <3 My best pattern yet.

Gyger stands at 9.5"(from back)/ 11"(from head) and 18" in length.

I'm not quiet sure what the material I used for the body is called or the hooves either. I used black felt for the points, ears and muzzle and yarn for the mane and tail. The tack is made out of black vinyl, green and grey felt and brads.

All but the head and hooves is handsewn -_- Sewing machine broke D:<

Total Approx time 14hr

ps. If I where to sell more horses that can come with supplies and such like tack, treats(carrots, apples etc.), halter, lead rope, blanket etc. How much would you be willing to pay for them? Thank you

Thanks! My horse plushies are such a big hit. I am so happy <3
If you really are interested in commissioning me for a plushie, hit me up with a note.
I will charge $40-50CDN for a completely custom plushie. Price depends on the difficulty of the character.

Wow!~ An amazing pattern, I wish my homemade patterns turned out this well. I'm surprised that this looks so well, despite the yarn mane/tail, yarn usually tends to look really bleah, but this is nice x) I would easily pay 30-45 bucks for something like this, without tack, 55-60 with tack, but I don't have money, so Maybe in the future.

Thank you very much for such the kind comment
I do agree with you about the yarn thing. hehe Sometimes it does look a bit odd XD

You're very welcome Working with yarn is such a hassle; I know from experience. But he just looks so cuddly, yarn and all

AnimalArtKingdom In reply to Shauntinasha [2010-07-21 05:13:43 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes. I hate sewing the yarn in. You always have to make sure that it is good and secure, or else you can just pull it right out D8 blehh.

Shauntinasha In reply to AnimalArtKingdom [2010-07-21 17:32:35 +0000 UTC]

It sounds ridiculous, but I tricked I used is taking a thin strip of packaging tape and laying it across a long row of yarn strings, and then you sew across the tape with your machine. Then all of the yarn is secured and you can put the tape in between two seams and sew it there. It works well, but the tape sometimes pulls the yarn apart. xP

I adore this plushieee. >w< I want one so bad. XD And I'd buy one if not for the fact I just spent all my money on materials to make my own pattern. ;_; Wish I'd seen this before cause Mine is turning out to be a nightmare. >D<; Thinking about saying 'screw it' and making it a 'Godfather's special' horse head plushie. xD

Haha, well with a little more practice you will be able to make a nice one :3 Nothing turns out perfect the first time, even when I am making plushies hehe

I'm really trying to stick it out. I may switch to an easier one for my first plushie. XD

AnimalArtKingdom In reply to shadow-sorite [2010-07-03 20:59:55 +0000 UTC]

Haha that might be a good idea :3
When I started making plushies I had the most simplest patterns. They consisted of three pieces haha

shadow-sorite In reply to AnimalArtKingdom [2010-07-04 00:34:26 +0000 UTC]

Did you use a book or something to get started? I'm trying /really/ hard to get started on making my own patterns. But my mother is being.. less then supportive. The entire plushie consists of two circles and a tail. Apparently thats one of the hardest things to make. EVER. xD

AnimalArtKingdom In reply to shadow-sorite [2010-07-04 06:28:28 +0000 UTC]

Well I actually took a look at a plushie horse that I had already and took a look at how they put it together. That might help you out :3 You could also look online for some free patterns and tips.

Hm... I've tried to find free pattens (and even bought ones) but noone seems to be selling onces. And I don't have a loveable horse plushie any good plushies. I'll have to go shopping. I've actually found a way to pattern my first plushie. It's looking great in the 'test' paper mode.

Oh hmm. Maybe you need to search harder hehe
Well that's good that your test version is working out Hopefully it turns out when you start the cutting and sewing :3 Good luck

This is wicked, considering that some people charge like $100 for stuff like this, you could really ask for whatever you wanted. (Though $100 is a bit steep if you ask me.) But then, these probably take lots of work, so maybe $80-100 is justified. If I were you, I'd charge a separate amount for tack and gear on top of the actual plush.

I love the tack and everything, so awesome!
