Description Insanity is an aspect of Crash's personality. The character Insanity appears to Crash at times to taunt him or goad him into giving up his humanity. Insanity may tell Crash to simply shoot THROUGH the innocent people seperating him from a criminal, or he may chastise Crash for looking at a pretty girl as if there were any chance that she would not be repulsed by him. He constantly tries to beat down Crash's humane and moral instincts. Most of the time, however, Crash ends up reinforcing his humane and rational decisions if only to oppse Insanity and piss him off.

You did say he was supposed to be Crash's "Little Devil" who killed Crash's "Little Angel".

Correct. Generally a pain in Crash's side but still an aspect of his own psyche.

Besides the fact that this appears to be a bit of a Joker rip off(which in turn is a bit of a Mad Hatter rip off), I really like the way you drew him. The solid black works nicely. And his hands are perfect. Well done.

Actually the Joker was inspired by the film "The Man Who Laughs" (1928) directed by the German Expressionist Paul Leni. It starred Conrad Veidt as Gwynplaine the son of a nobleman who insulted King James the second. The nobleman was executed and his child deliberately disfigured so as to laugh at his father's foolery. Here is a quick link with the side by side. [link]

It's true, that is one of his influences. In Bob Kane's autobiography he says that the joker came form several sources. Those including Conrad Veidt's Gwynplaine, the Mad Hatter, and of course the Joker in a deck of Cards.

Thanks. I actually created this character back in the late 80s and his look was loosely inspired by a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde comic book adaptation that was very abstract. His grin eventually took on a look inspired by the Comics character Evil Ernie. Glad you like it though!
