The first of the cheerleaders and the first painting of the year, omg that felt so good after 3 weeks not paintingDedicated to my friend it has been awhile since he got something from me
Technical information for those who care :
based on several cheerleader references especially for the face and the toothy grin as I am not used to that kind of facial expressions. Outfit invented by me and entirely painted this time, no dodge and burn for the pleads as I usually did, whoohoo I have learned much here.
I found my paintings too static most of the time, these cheerleaders will help me to find dynamics. I did the pompoms with bevel and emboss, my solution to make them lifelike. What I like in this painting is her belly, it really went well

Hey CM;
Your work borders on photo real in some of the details, and other parts not. Gives it a strange look. In this case, it almost appears that you photo manipulated the face onto one of your great pieces of art. My son who happened to be passing by stopped and asked what I was studying. I explained that I was reviewing one of my favorite artists, but was troubled by what was wrong with it. He said that it looked like one of those old style photo props where you stick your head in a hole to get your picture taken showing you as a mermaid or the like. I really like what you've done here, but the minor details throw it off a bit, (the hair, etc)

my own son said the same and so there is a ground of truth in your remarks though it is not always easy to read it and digest it.
the fact is that I like to do faces, go into much more detail there and probably get them more realistic than bodies and clothes, well I am learning every day and I will try to avoid this schism in the future, thanks for pointing it out to me, i appreciate it but I am in a very down mood today, so i have to refrain to throw the wacom to the wall
