As a forest Leshy, Nephie loves animals and nature. He often spends his time watching over his stretch of the forest and guiding animals where they need to go and enjoys peaceful nature walks. He also loves playing with wandering travelers. Nephie likes watching travelers walk through his forests and plays with them here and there, sometimes leading them to the village. In his human form, Nephie loves soft blankets and candy. Even though food isn’t necessary for him, candy has been one of the few things that have enticed him about human creation, the second being curled up in a nice soft blanket.

Nephie dislikes people who mistreat animals purely because of the fact that he is often connected with them due to his duties. He never trusts anyone who harms animals. He also dislikes fire. he doesn’t hate it but he’s very cautious since fire is dangerous to his domain. For the most part, nephie loves travelers but in rare cases, he dislikes when travelers are disrespectful and make a mess of his forest.. As a human, he dislikes coffee and shoes. For Nephie, he doesn’t like the bitter taste of coffee much and it leaves an aftertaste he has difficulty getting rid of. It also allows people to be more aware of his presence in the forest. Nephie never wears shoes and hates the feeling of something restricting the feeling of the earth beneath his feet.

Mischievous: Nephie sometimes likes to stir up trouble with villagers when he’s bored. He doesn’t do too much where there’s a lot of damage though.
Playful: Nephie likes to play around with travelers and has his fun sometimes before leading them to the village. He also has a playful streak in his human form and is often seen as childish.
Curious: Nephie is always watching humans because they can be unpredictable sometimes and he always likes to see what they make.
Protective: Nephie is very protective of his forest and it’s creatures, and often does what he can to ensure the safety of its inhabitants
Nosy: sometimes Nephie’s curiosity can lead him to being too nosy, which can get him in trouble

For as long as Nephie knew, he was a guardian spirit. He had no real memory of his days leading up to the inheritance of his duties but one thing was certain and that was he loved his job. As a young spirit, he found himself exploring his territory, befriending the creatures and getting to know the area he would soon dedicate his life to protecting. It was his purpose after all. It was a rather easy job he found, considering the depths of his forests were dense and far from civilization. One thing that was difficult was that it was easily inhabited by the darkness and demons that had made this place their home.
For Nephie, asserting his dominance as the protector and guardian of the stretch of forest was a long arduous process as many were unwilling to accept him as anything higher than some useless forest guardian. In due time, Nephie reigned in the demons and had been able to maintain some level of peace, that is until humans occasionally began showing up a while later. It made him curious as to how they managed to reach this far into the forest but with no real care for them, he let them be. As long as they didn’t hurt his forest or its inhabitants he was fine… Is what he thought, but even then it was rare to see visitors pass through so he often found himself having fun and guiding them astray.

Decades passed and Nephie had gotten the hang of his duties. By now he had mastered a human form after observing those that have passed by, though he rarely appeared in it. One day, Nephie saw a particular small group of people and noticed they were planning to make a home in his forest and he found the need to approach the apparent leader. Zela was her name and he had made it known that she was not welcome here… until she offered him an alliance. It was a rather tough sell, but Nephie was cautious. He would have more humans to watch and learn from and keep him company; in exchange, he would protect them from harm, promise not to harm them, as well as guide travelers there if they came near enough.. For now he agreed, and thus started the peaceful alliance between Nephie and the Village.
