Like my last gryphon picture, i've decided to make the legs reverse. Paws on front, claws on back.Why?
Because I like the way it looks
The big heavy paws in front can still help to bring down prey and hook on, that's when the back legs can go in for the kill, or the beak. If the pulverising hit from above wasn't enough to kill the prey.

Pfft, she's too cute to kill any prey *nuzzles the adorable griffin* I love how the feathers came out on this one. The detail is perfect, and the shine on the beak and the lil tuft of feathers on the top of her head add such a great effect to her overall appearance. Once again, you've outdone yourself, my love! Great job!

actually this is the way i've most often seen griffons in mythology... maybe I've beenr eading the wrong books, but looks.... colorful. odd but effective.
