The Apatosaurus had just been through something more terrifying than anything it'd ever seen. It doesn't grasp what it means to think deeply. It only has instincts. Feed, fight, flight. That's what it knows. But what the Indominus rex did went beyond what the Apatosaurus's instincts knew. The indominus wasn't looking to kill it to feed, nor even to really claim its territory and dominance, which the Apatosaurus might have understood. Yet it attacked for the soul purpose of pleasure. The Apatosaurus was attacked, clawed, bit and ravaged. It should have been quick if the intention was for food, but no. Once the Indominus was finished with her she chased after her sisters and the Apatosaurus had to lie there helpless, dying, and in pain as she listened to the sounds of the rest of her herd being torn apart around her. She lied there for maybe hours till someone finally came. They couldn't save her but you can tell there's some comfort in her eyes with knowing that she's being held through these final moments. The last thing she'll know isn't the claws in her hide or screams of her family, but of two beings petting her, soothing her, and letting her know nothing was going to hurt her again.ο»Ώ
