Yay for double meanings. LOL *shot*

Anywho, despite the extreme dread I felt about this picture sometimes in the past couple of months, I really love how this turned out.
Let me explain. XD
and an awesome AMV convinced me to watch Princess Tutu.
OHMY--
Yeah, I never thought I'd see the day, but it happened.
And it sorta started influencing my art a little.

At first, this drawing was just a happy little face and so I was all .
And then I drew the body and it became more like .
BUT THEN every time I looked at it, it made me feel happy. I don't really know exactly why, it just did.
And then I started coloring it.
And I chose orange hair without realizing what I was doing.
So I made sure not to pick blue for the eyes. XD (Google images of Ahiru from Princess Tutu if you don't get it, lol)
And then I started coloring the dress.
And because of the shading/value worksheets we worked on yesterday in art, I made a line that started dark and faded as it went down.
And then I remembered when did something like that on a dress in one of her drawings.
So I figured it couldn't hurt to try it out. If it didn't turn out well, I could always darken it and pretend it never happened.
So I kept on with that technique until I was satisfied and then I just sorta stared for a few seconds.
And I was really freakin' proud.
So of course I shoved it into Melissa's face to show her.
And she was all like, "Whoa."
And then it was kind of a blur as I did a fist pump and was like . 8D

...So yeah, I'm pretty happy with it.

BTW, I didn't label it as fanart because it's not. It was definitely inspired by Princess Tutu, but it's not Ahiru. Just to clear up any misunderstandings before they start chucking pens at me. :'D
I'm actually thinking of naming this girlie and filing her away into my cupboard of OCs. XD
