Description HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE
What is the soul crushing evil of your life? The over-bearing, thought-consuming fear which drives you into a dark pit of despair should you face it? Confront that evil. Bare your soul and write or draw what that thing is. Do not opt for simple paranoias like spiders or snakes. Borrow instead from the darker moments of your life and manifest those thoughts into your own personal Wendigo.

At first, it looks harmless. Entrancing, even. You feel like you'd like to have it with you, that its beauty might attract people.
But everything you do, every thought you have, it begins to infect. It teaches you shame. It teaches you hate. And you still listen to it, because you agree. By the time you realize the truth, you can never shake it. It follows you everywhere, mockingly dancing on the breeze with grace you'll never have. It will wait until you're wounded and weak, then it will land upon your shoulder and whisper to you. You put up a horrid fight as soon as you recognize the voice, but clings to you, knowing that sooner or later, you'll fall. What it tells you when it finally pulls you into the dark, you'll never know. But when it finally releases you, you can still feel the truth in its words. The weakness. The helplessness. And the shame.
Because even though you shouldn't, you still think it's pretty.

Well, uhm. Yeah. This is mine.
As far as the art goes, I actually quite like it. I put more effort into this guy than usual, although I'm still debating whether I should have put more detail into Mr. Angry Butterfly. But I think I'll leave it, it's not supposed to look like it's real anyway: I purposfully made it a million times more clear than the background. Hot DAMN its pretty, in a scary way.

So, uh, as for an explanation...well, this kind of draws from both a mental and physical problem I have, and the art itself is based on a recent event connected to both. The rest I'll leave it up to the viewer. I've never been one for personal art, and none of my problems merit griping about on the interwebs.

In other news. Slaughtered a genetic midterm today (I hope) .

HYAAAAAAAH LATE COMMENTING
and I still have more to comment on le teehee!

I rather like this. 8D I've been on a butterfly/psychological/pretty supernaturalish thing kick lately and this pleases me greatly. It has a vague Silent Hill-ish kind of air to it, what with the "pretty but not so pretty" thing going on.

YOU.
AH.
FABULOUS.

Did your wendigo tell you to slaughter that midterm?

I kid! I kid! Really, though, that butterfly is gorgeous. I was all like "Ooh, pretty! that's a wendigo?" And then I was like, "Oh, right. Dead person's hand." I completely understand what you're saying about it still being pretty even though you shouldn't think that. But, you know, if we weren't conflicted about stuff like this, I don't know if we would ever really become better people. For better or for worse, we'd just be... stuck.

When the evil, imaginary butterfly tells you to kill an exam, you'd best listen.
Thank you! Yeah, life's no fun without inner conflict, is it?
And that video. Oh my God. I KNEW them the butterflies were up to no good!!!

Simple, hypnotic. Like an evil lava lamp. Very poignant, and honestly simpler is sometimes better (especially with deeply personal things)
