I think the biggest tragedy to Drizzt other then losing CAtti (at least he got her back though).
1. He never got to fight along side his son
2. He was a father who wanted to be an actual father but couldn't
3. Totally under appreciated by Malice.
4. Never got to see the world above and have a chance to live among others who were aligned with his hear.
Pretty much he was the poster boy of what a kid would want as a Dad and woman in a partner. Stupid Malice!
Y I got the biggest fan girl crush (I didn't think I would still have those at 35 lol) on him. i have this soft spot for tragic heroes and tormented souls. I too wish he'd come back he is my favorite out of all 30 some damn books. I am so mad at Bob for not bring him back like he did the rest of the companions. Out of all the people who deserved a second life he did.

This is the best characterisation of Zak that I've ever seen. I think you captured his personality here. And now...*coughcough*... well, I think I can understand why Matron Malice had a soft spot fot him.
