Pencil drawing I made during lunch and philosophy class.Is Magus, from Chrono Trigger, of course. No reference, very few guide-lines.

No reference and not much to be guided by? I must say this is wonderfully done! I don't know if I speak for anyone else or not, but I really think you've given an animated character a very "real life" feel. It's very easy to see him looking like that if the graphics for the game were more realistic. *Excellent* work!!

perhaps it's because most Magus fanart makes him look ten to twenty years younger than he should.

I see him as well over that. In Frog's first flashback containing him, he already has his adult game sprite, complete with receding hairline. Assuming a genetic predisposition toward receding hairlines, that puts him in his mid twenties. Ten years pass between that flashback and the fight with him in his castle, so he's then in his mid thirties. That fight, of course, sends him to Zeal Kingdom, where he's clearly had some time to get himself into power (because those things don't happen overnight). I estimate about a year or two for that. So he's probably in his late thirties.
