Have you got the original of this with a good resolution? It's such a classical portrait of Suzanne I'd like to draw her. The one of you from a couple of weeks ago is very grainy and not good for using as portrait material so if you get the notion then would you put one up of you that has good contrast and void of grains - perhaps a profile shot in B&W then I can combine it with the one of Suzanne cause I'm totally feeling inspired by your relationship with each other - ta Alison

It was a photo to start with, then I stuck it in a paint program and painted over it....I guess technically it's a photo manip... but there is so little of the original photo left I'm not sure I would classify it as one...

lol....I use to work in the shipyards when I was in my 20's...there were some pretty cute welders working there who could do anything the guys could or better...so being good with your hands doesn't make you any less feminine...

But in Maui they're pretty laid back....will have to learn to speak Hawaiian natives call "Pidgin", this is what Susu use to speak when she was a little girl....they say things like:
"Brok ' Da Mout = "Tastes Delicous"
"Hale" = "House"
"Haole" = White people...(like me...but not Susu or the kids)...they'd be "Hapa Haole"
"Huhu"= "Angry" and lots of other stuff....
When Susu was a kid she moved to Wisconsin and all the kids would make fun of them because of the way they spoke....plus down in the Milwaukee area they're pretty racist...and they'd tease her because her dad was pretty dark...oh well, she'll be home soon...kinda..

Down in the Milwaukee area discrimination has always been pretty bad, it was down there in the 60's when they had all the civil rights protests... and then all the white ppl left for the suburbs after they were told they would have to live next to black people....
