Stats: attack and speed boosted, still good defence
Scoria: in ancient times, pokemon battles were much more fierce. Female skarmory were specially bred to help remove injured ones from the battlefield.
Pumice: it has been trained since ancient times to find and rescue people and pokemon. Seeing a Valkory fly down to rescue you is said to feel comparable to an angel floating down from above.

Name Origin: Valkyrie + skarmory. Originally Skarlash (skarmory + slash) then Skymatrice (skarmory + sky + cockatrice)
Design: based on the concept of valkyries. The original was just a skarmory but with embellishments. It was only in the first redesign that I added the valkyrie idea. Shiny just matches the colours of skarmory's shiny. I could have left the blue parts yellow but I liked them blue.
