The moon is my saviour.
It allows me to escape the need
Of hearing your voice before I go to sleep.
Your lovely, gentle voice;
The voice that permits me to relax
Before falling into a deep slumber.
Without the moon, I would pick up my phone;
I would stare at your number, fighting the urge
To dial it; fighting the urge
To release all of my hidden emotions.
For I know that if I give in,
My need to hear your voice will only increase.
I know that if I give in,
It will be even harder to seek the moon,
Begging for its assistance.
I know that deep down inside,
No matter how much you pretend you enjoy my company,
I am just an annoying little kid,
Compared to your glorious self.
So that is why, despite my needs and desires,
I will seek the moon,
Begging for it
To become my saviour.
