Description
Screaming, she slammed her fist against the wall.
The blood trickled down her wrist;
her feet started to swim in pools of red.
But she didn't care.
She felt her head crash into something rock-hard,
just above her fist.
The blood wasn't the only thing that started rolling down her face.
The tears accompanied it.
She tasted it in her mouth;
the salt,
combined with the taste of pain.

Gasping,
she forced herself to look over at her mirror.
All she could see was deformity.
She looked as deeply as she could into that reflective surface.
But really, it was only a surface.
A surface showing what was inside of her.
A demon?
No.
Not even close.
The devil?
Perhaps.
If that's how you would describe
the part of her that laughed at the pain of others.
The part of her that enjoyed listening to their shrieking voices;
that delighted in watching them curl up on the ground,
as they whimpered in pain.

She screamed again,
throwing her shoe at the mirror.
Shiny shards of it flew everywhere,
seemingly destroying all trace of her sadistic traits.
Yet she still felt it inside,
trying to consume her.

As a last resort,
She took the pocket knife lying on her desk.
And the other part of her laughed,
As she fell to the ground.
