I'm at university, studying fine arts and we had an assignment that consisted on a project; we had to gather references, try different options and ways of doing things, new ideas, a brainstorming.... (I don't know if I explain myself)  and at the end we had to show:

- the final result of this research and work
or
- all the information-gathering process

I was doing a photography/doll related project, so it was the perfect excuse for painting my dolls and working on them a little bit more ) but no one at school taught me how to do it, the aim of this project was to learn to do it by myself : )

and again, merci beaucoup ^^

fine arts ... obviously this should make things easier. lol ...
for me, take pictures: it is the hardest and most painful ... I hate that. and I fear that will see a lot here in my page ... hihihi

hahaha, for me too
and I don't have a proper place for photographing and everything is so messy, and then editing the photos... I have folders of photos but because I'm lazy I don't finish them XD

So amazing, so beautifuly done! HOW do you do this?
Just a question: What paint, or did you use paint, to do the stitching all of the body? So beautiful, wish I had that kind of talent!

Thank you very much, love♥

I used acrylics for all the repaint, even the stitches. First I've done them with gray and when they were dry, I applied a layer of silver-color-acrylic, it's quite transparent, that's why first I paint with gray (: .
Oh, and I used a very small brush XD

Your welcome! (:

I've heard of acrylics, just never really seen them or used them, sadly. :\

They don't look like strokes they look like real stitches! XD
I see how you would attempt to do those, interesting! I've never done a doll repaint or anything along those lines. How long have you been doing them? And how old do you think you were when you started?

I assumed it was small or dainty!
(Sorry for all the questions, I'm just very curious and wish to do doll repaints.... one day! That one day may be when I'm dead. After all I'm a HUGE cridict to myself.)

You can ask whatever you want! (I don't bite) : D

I've been doing MH repaints since last summer (2012), in august (I was so bored :__D) I wanted to try it and I had a lot of free time, so I bought a doll (an Operetta). Before this I had painted some BJDs and Blythes, but even if it's similar, the tiny size of MH and their eyes were a headache XD

If you want to do repaint don't be afraid of yourself! I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do it, but if you don't try, you won't know and you can erase it and try again as much as you want

I'm a huge critic to myself too, that's why I'm such a slow worker XD

I understand completely.<3 Thank you so much for these words!
They really helped!! I hope to work on one soon, any tips for beginners (if I haven't asked already)?

You're very welcome (: I'm glad it helped (:

The only tip I can tell you is to practice! Well.. also, watch tutorials, they're a really big help and I'd recommend you to do the desing of the face up in a blank page, so you can have a better idea of how will it be, aldo when you start painting the doll you will know more or less how will it be

and that's everything I can think on right now XD

Good luck with it (: (and even if I'm not wn expert, you can come an ask if you have any doubt, i'll do my best to help)
