Well done! I was out doing the same Thursday night and got a similar image. Slightly different angle since we live in different places.

This is well done. I have taken numerous pictures of the full moon and at other times. To get this quality at 300mm with the D90 is nicely done. I have shot at 300mm with a 2x multiplier and not done any better. Unless I go with a much more expensive longer lens around 400-800mm, but these are out of my range.

Thanks! And good to know. I'd just like to get the doubler to get closer though... I had to crop quite a bit to bring the viewer in that close.

in short my friend Stephen, I am a photography fail in action ...
i can comprehend 600 mm, though I have no idea-mechanically, how this will affect the outcome of the picture..doubler for your lens..yeah that one aahh -completely lost me there..if you have a moment, plz explain as I am one who would rather understand than shake my head and remain clueless..

and now having a better grasp of what you were saying..your picture would have better resolution and of course you would seem closer to the moon ere go a fuller picture..I like it..ty kindly for the info man
I'm still working with a $200 digi I got from Walmart soooo, not so advanced ..
