Warning: Minor blood and profanity (not swearing)
I don't care anymore about Dreamcatcher, she could go die for all I care.
I hope Dreamcatcher is happy, I don't care about her anymore, I thought angrily, kicking what I thought was a rock up into the air. I just wish I could see.
I continue walking to... wherever I was trying to go. I just wanted to stay away from my X as much as possible. I officially hated her guts.
I continue to stomp my way through the forest, waking possibly every creature in the forest. Eventually, the forest floor becomes soggier and soggier. Up until the point where I accidentally tripped on rather large rocks. Constantly getting my feet and ankles scraped as I did so, only able to stand back up again.
My legs are now starting to bruise, I can feel it. I don't need some pathetic doctor to tell me that.
As I was stomping through what seemed to be a swamp, I managed to fall into water. It wasn't nearly as shallow as the previous puddles. In fact, it was probably some type of pond or lake. I struggle in the water in surprise, not expecting to be drowned. I struggle. Coming up for air only every few seconds.
"N-no! I can't die here! I have unfinished b-business!" I shout with the remaining breath, hoping for someone to hear me.
"What was that...?" Someone asks. Their voice is deep and mysterious, it gives me chills down my spine. With my acceding hearing, I hear the padding of cat footprints walk up to me.
I sink under the water, trying to hold in my breath. They weren't going to save me. It was over.
After a few heartbeats, which seemed like an eternity of drowning, I feel someone grab my scruff roughly and pull me up without effort. I gasp for air, coughing out a little blood, and shaking my fur off.
I look up, hoping that I was looking at my savior in the eye. "W-w-who are you?!"
I hear a chuckle of amusement.
"Stop making fun of my lack of sight, please," I say, looking down at my paws.
"No, it's just... You're the best blind cat I've ever met. Although you did drown yourself in water," the voice replies, chuckling.
I sigh, looking up. "What do you want?"
"You owe me, kid," the voice answers.
"... I guess I do. What must I owe?" I ask.
The voice chuckles.
"Oh gosh, just tell me already," I snap.
"You don't know who you're talking to," the voice laughs.
"... Then just tell me what I owe already!!" I retort.
"I'm the devil himself!" The voice says.
I gasp, jumping back. "Are you serious!?! N-no, you're joking! I'm not talking t-to... T-t-to only the best deity e-ever to exist!"
He chuckles. "Look, kid, you owe me your life and your soul. You wouldv'e gone to Hell after you've died. You would've given me your soul regardless, especially after what you've done."
"I only did what was fair!!" I shout.
"Yeah, sorry, you may have considered it fair, but it was unworthy for heaven," the devil chuckles. "Now... Instead of wasting your soul, I'll make you an offer."
I sit down and gulp. "W-what is that?"
"You become my right-hand man? I need a general. My previous one failed me, trying to take over Hell for himself," the devil answered.
I muse to myself. All sides of my were screaming something like, "No! Don't do it! He's literally the devil! This could be a trick! This isn't what Dreamcatcher would want you to do, please still care!"
I shake those thoughts out of my head, pushing them out carelessly.
"Deal!" I grin, holding out my paw blindly. He chuckles, shaking my hand.
I feel power swell within my insides, as if I had become invincible. I felt like I could take on the whole world with this overwhelming feeling... Like I could take upon my vengeance.
