And I agree on the Destroid pilots attitude thing. Considering their attrition rate, you'd almost have to have an attitude to be a Destroid pilot. Every RT episode I saw that had Destroids in it usually showed them getting blown to pieces! LOL

Mind you, that's not a design flaw. They were designed for fighting on earth and using terrain and cover like battlemechs.
Trivia: in the early Battletech (latter MechWarrior) games and books they actually totally ripped RT for their designs. The Rifleman is a direct rip of one of the Defender Destroid as is the Marauder (from the Glaug officer's battle pod) and the Warhammer is a rip of the Tomahawk. That and the Wasp was a rip of the Veritech.

This is true, but, it did make it easier to get miniatures for the game, that's for sure. Most of you major mecha were right there in the RT aisle waiting to be pressed into service...

Just hope HG doesn't shut you down. I had a friend on here who was doing a 3D fan fic with some of his friends and HG put a DCMA on him. Stupid.

And no I'm not kidding. He and a group of friends were going to do a 3D short based on the Macross saga with their own designs of the veritechs. They even had a short animation done as a promo. But, HG insisted they remove all their work from the net.

This is true. And RT isn't really one series, it's 3 they did a mash up on.
Problem with them being so bitchy about it is that the fanart and fanfic is promoting their product. And you don't see any of the major comic houses being @holes about fanfic or fanart here on DA or anywhere else. They know the rabid die hard fans are the core of their business. It's always a good idea to not antagonize your customer base too much. (that is if you REALLY want to stay in business)
